Steve Jobs

I’m a Mac user and I love it, but I didn’t know much about Steve Jobs before I read this book. It was very interesting for me, because Jobs experienced a lot of things we normally don’t, and his actions could not expected.

I was surprised that he had his beliefs, and his personality is very weird. In the book, we know that he was very stubborn about what he thought was right. He has a strong passion to accomplish his will, for example the invention of new products. On the other hand, he didn’t care about the things he was not interested in, for example his appearance. He even sometimes bothered others.

At the same time, I understood that he was a special person, because the ways he thought were unique and consistent. I was especially impressed by the following parts in his Stanford commencement speech.

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

I think this part expresses his life. Actually, he made some important determinations in the process of establishing and developing Apple, and he was uncompromising. After I listened to it, I felt I had to actively accomplish what I really want to do.
